The Pink Pig

Allow me to introduce you to

Priscilla,
the Pink Pig

"Since 1953, Macy's Pink Pig has been delighting generations of Atlantans. Come ride Priscilla the Pink Pig on train tracks through a life-sized storybook featuring Priscilla and her friends. Tickets are available at the Macy's Pink Pig kiosk inside the East mall entrance at Lenox Square. A portion of the ride's proceeds will benefit Children's Healthcare of Atlanta."

When I tell you that The Pink Pig is a big deal in Atlanta,

I mean:

BIG FREAKIN' DEAL.

HUGE!

Josh and I have lived in Atlanta for 7 of our 8 years together and have walked past the 2 hour long lines filled with Atlanta's young and old to ride the 1.5 minute long train.

This was the year for us, we decided.

So on Thursday afternoon, while most schools were still in session, we made our way over to Macy's to meet Priscilla. Natalie was beside herself with excitement.
(we had NO line to wait in!)

Josh and I were pretty excited too.

During our ride we learned that the original pink ping was a tram,
hung from a rail with kiddos trapped inside the pig's belly
peering out of Chicken Wire:

We rode the track, a lopsided oval, 4 times.
We saw the sparkly trees and heard the story book style tale of Priscilla
and how she came to be, and loved every minute.

...All of us...

Priscilla, we can't wait to see you next year!

:O)

A few pictures from the latest sync with the phone.
A neat peek into our every day lives, when the real camera isn't on hand but I'm still able to capture a moment.

Round and Round

For the record, I'm now WAY too old to be going round and round on top of something that is going round and round. I felt funny the rest of the day. But it was FuN!

Mr. Turtle

I give you Mr. Turtle.

Our loving pet for 10 hours on Tuesday.

He was welcomed into our home -- make that back deck where he hid under the grill for most of the day -- by Natalie and Lindsey who showed nothing but love for him:
Providing him with plastic tubs full of azalea cuttings for shelter,
plastic planter bases full of water for hydration,
and an offering of going to get him some Turtle Food from the store.

Mr. Turtle was set free to resume his very important life of
eating the dead dried up worms in our driveway.
