An Evening With Nat

Since she woke up, Natalie has worn 6 entirely different outfits. All chosen and put on entirely by herself.

At dinner tonight
Natalie asked to have some of our baked beans rather than finish her ice cream dessert. (Of course, I do put about a gallon of brown sugar in them.)

After waiting for said beans to cool I asked, "Is that better?"
Natalie replied, "
Yes, thank you; I like them."

After dinner Natalie
let me help her do a puzzle by hanging me a piece and then showing me where to put it.

Following that Natalie didn't want me to help her get her gown on so she said to me, "
You do that again, you go time out."

Isn't 3 fun!

An Apology

Dear Alimentum Ready-to-Feed,

Perhaps we acted in haste. The transition to Isomil was going fine but since being on full strength Isomil Lindsey's reflux has gotten worse, her spit-ups more frequent, and her colic and crying miserable for all of us. She doesn't want to eat and she isn't sleeping well either.

Please forgive us and come back. We promise to restore you as the one and only, best ever formula for our Lindsey.

Truly and Forever Yours,
the Cauthens

A Letter

Dear Alimentum Ready-to-Feed,

I barely have the words to thank you for fixing my sweet Lindsey and making her tummy, her temperament, her poop, her reflux, and our lives so much better. Despite your outrageous cost we have welcomed you into our home for over four months, made you one of our own and you have served us well.
Now,
Hit The Road!

Fondly,
The Cauthens

Lindsey has now been weaned to Isomil RTF.
Four dollars cheaper a quart, less smelly, and just as happy a baby!
Hooray!

Odds and Ends

I was in Athens over the weekend for my sister-in-law's baby shower. Seeing as how my mom and I were the hostesses, I had to go. =) It was a big hit with everyone and she got some great 2nd baby things!

Natalie was limping all morning and stopped shortly after I took her shoes (that I bought last spring) off. Shoe shopping on Wednesday!

Josh smoked a pig butt(?) over the weekend so we had some super yummy BBQ tonight. Only his 3rd try on the Big Green Egg and I think he's getting the hang of it.

Lindsey's in the walker now and loves to "walk" to the dishwasher and take the ABCs off. Natalie is being great about having to share her ABCs and other toys with little and no preperation.

Natalie had her last day of school on Thursday. There was a great little party for the class. Her teachers, both of whom this was their first year teaching, cried. It was precious. We have gymnastics planned for each Wednesday this summer and are tentative for a dance class on Tuesdays. While I don't think Natalie fully understands that there will be no more school until August, she's excited about the two new things she'll be learning.

Natalie went to a birthday party at the Fire Department and I just love this picture.

I'm halfway through Jodi Picoult's newest, Handle With Care. It's slowed down a bit, but my mom says it picks back up and she likes the ending, so I'm glad to hear that.

I love this picture, too!

Happy Anniversary To Me!

Yesterday was our 7th wedding anniversary. Last year I did a big sappy post about how we met and blah, blah, blah. This year I just went and bought a gift. A Big Green Egg. We already grilled something in our meal about half the time (burgers, the chicken for the tacos, steaks, pork chops, veggies, you name it). Well, now Josh will be grilling - or should I say smoking - all the time.
So, I got Josh a Big Green Egg for our 7th anniversary.
But, really, I got myself a chef for our 7th anniversary.

Here's the hubby's post on his blog, picture included.
