Aside from the length of their hair, the only other difference I see is that it appears the outfit has shrunk in length. That or Lindsey has long arms and legs and a short torso (she could, those would be Wier genes). I also love that their little bodies fit on the head rest with some room to spare. And how do you like their mirrored rooms? =)

Pumpkin Cookies & Cousins

We had quite an exciting weekend!
Saturday Natalie and I made Pumpkin Cookies! She had a lot of fun with the cookie cutter but the orange frosting in a can was too hard for even me to use. We decided the frosting worked much better as finger paint. The cookies are pretty yummy, too!





On Sunday Cousin Ava and family came to visit. Natalie and Ava are 3 months apart and always have so much fun playing and not so much fun sharing together. =)

Pumpkins!

Happy Fall to All Y'all!

Last Saturday, Josh and I willingly dressed our children in orange and took them to a nearby church where they host a large pumpkin patch and lots of fall fun! Natalie was a bit overwhelmed by both the wind and the sheer volume of pumpkins. We kept encouraging her to pick one out, but she would just stand and gaze at them. I am so in love with these pictures that I can't pick out just a few to post, so here's many for you to enjoy. (as always, a reminder that you can click on them to see a bigger picture)

Day 12 With 2

It's day 12 with my two girls, and we're all doing great.

Lindsey is having much more awake time and loves to look at the sunlight coming through the windows. She's breast feeding like a champ and will even give us a 3-4 hour stretch at night. She's gaining weight slowly and steadily, just like she's supposed to be. She's pooping and peeing and doing all those other great things 12 day old babies are supposed to do, too.


Natalie is still SO in live with Lindsey. She's actually becoming a little too fond of her and has become a mild danger now. Yesterday she picked Lindsey up off the floor. Luckily we were all right there together and I was able to slip in and grab Lindsey's head and today she "vroomed" a toy car right into her head. She loves to help change diapers and check on her when she's "more more drink some milk" and says she's "so hungry 'gain". Natalie's memorized her "I'm Big Sister" book and "V New Baby" book and will recite them throughout the day. In the midst of all this Big-Sister hood, Natalie is getting some gourmet meals like poptarts for breakfast and fruity cheerios for lunch.

I am doing great too. I'm getting to sleep in every morning and/or take an afternoon nap when the girls do. I'm in good spirits and am physically well unless you count this cold/sinus thing I've got going on.

Josh is great as well. He went back to work on Monday and is working from home some days, to make my life (and his) (and our gas bills) a little easier. He's also a fantastic chef! =D

Here's the story, in brief:
Thursday I nested all day then we took a family walk around the neighborhood, I wouldn't be surprised if we walked for 2 miles. It worked and at 7pm my contractions were at regular 7 minute intervals. We called the doc and headed to the hospital. By midnight, after getting IV fluids and already being told I was dilated 4-5 cm the now every 2-4 minute apart contractions stopped. Who knew you could put yourself in to false labor that seriously! At this point no one is going to leave, so it's ambien for sleep and we'll talk to the doc in the morning.

Dr G was on duty! He delivered Natalie and we're thrilled! Pitocin was started at 7am and my water broken by 8, epidural at 10, and at 11:40, OMG, I needed to push! They called Dr G and said we need you NOW! I was having to do lamaze type breathing to keep from pushing! Dr G arrived, the room was transformed in minutes and after a few wimpy pushes through one contraction (hey, I'd forgotten how to do this!), some good pushes through the next contraction, she was born in the middle of the third contraction! That's right, folks, 4 good pushes and I had a baby! She had the cord around her neck one time but that was quickly moved aside before it could cause any problems. She was a little hesitant to give us a good cry, but once she did, look out! Baby Lindsey was rooting around already and latched on instantly to breast feed.

Big Sister Natalie

Things (knocking on wood) have been a breeze since. We were discharged today at 1pm following her hearing test and 24-hour-old labs. We're all doing great. Natalie has taken on the Big Sister role with great pride! Any time Baby Lindsey makes a fuss Natalie says "there's Baby!" and comes over to see what we're doing. She's, so far, shown no jealousy with me holding Lindsey or breast feeding her. It is hard to fit in moments just for me and her, but I'm sure that will come with time and practice. Josh is being a super awesome dad to the girls, naturally.
